Purses

The custom designed cigar box "purses" are a unique and unusual addition to collections of objects that tie emotions of ladies of all ages to favorite animals, places, or events. Purses can be made to include a customer chosen subject or photo, or you can leave the design and composition to the artist, as was the case with most all the purses shown in the gallery. Being very personal in nature, many of the purses have been made to include a poem, an inspirational message or Biblical verse.

The boxes are custom made from Baltic Birch, and are 6.5" x 6.5" x 2.25" with brass hardware and a faux bamboo handle. There are no dividers or compartments inside the purse, and although it might serve as such, it's more often used as a unique display item in coordination with a particular collection or decor. The orientation of the design is from top to bottom (handle to base).

The cost for a standard purse is $80.00 which includes pyrography on front, back, top, and sides. The inside lid and bottom can be pyrographed lightly or decoupaged with ornamental paper, or both. The pyrographed purses can be left uncolored (Monochrome) or colored with oil pencil. As with the other pyrographed pieces, several coats of protective varnish are applied to the purse to preserve it. Purses are artist-signed and dated on the bottom.

The purses require a $30.00 deposit at time of order, with the balance and actual shipping costs to be paid prior to delivery. Acceptable methods of payment are personal check, money order or cashiers check. I can provide a photo of the work in progress, if requested and will return any customer-provided photos or other graphics with the finished item. Lead time is 8-10 weeks.

FULLY CUSTOMIZED DESIGNER PURSE---- (Refer to interior of Victorian "elf" purse in gallery)

For a more personal gift item, full customization of the inside of the purse is available and can include sentimental souvenirs and mementos, greeting card segments, ribbon, lace, jewelry, seashells, etc. I can use either customer-provided items or Victorian scrap I have available (the entire inside of the elf purse was made from period scrap I have on hand). Keep in mind that the embellishments are permanently affixed to the inside of the purse with decoupage. Purses fully pyrographed on outside with custom made interiors are priced at $110. Lead time is 12-16 weeks.
