Miscellaneous

This gallery is devoted to some miscellaneous pieces and other work that is a bit outside the usual requests.

After being provided with a beautiful piece of curly maple for a commissioned "logo sign" for Jim Chambers Flintlocks, and falling in love with the attributes of the wood, I woodburned a longrifle gunstock on the same kind of wood. The before and after images shown are on bare wood without finish applied and then finished with 12 coats of tung oil.

If any gun collectors, or gun smiths are interested in custom wood-burning services on stocks, or if you want to collaborate on a special edition piece, please contact me. The burned images will show best on wood that is light in color.

The Big Leaf Maple burls come in different configurations and sizes, and lend themselves well to wildlife portraits. The burls shown in this gallery are all similar in overall size. I have a limited quantity of both small and large burls available for commissioned orders.
