Pyrographed animals, landscapes, portraits, birthplaces and other subjects on various sized plaques, are an excellent way to depict memories we hold dear and make a unique gift item.

The wood I use most often for portraits is 1/8" thick Italian Poplar in 8" x 10" or 9" x 12" sizes. The thickness of the Italian Poplar makes the portrait suitable for framing. I have also used Sycamore, Lacewood, Russian Birch ply and Curly Maple for special requests and other framing applications such as shadow boxes. The gallery depicts some examples of past commissioned pieces on a variety of wood species and sizes.

I can work from a high resolution digital photograph, an 8' x 10' printed photo or good photocopy. All photos and other image documents will be returned with your completed order. If you want to just give me an idea or theme, I'll be glad to work with you to develop a unique piece of art.

8" x 10" and 9" x 12" Italian Poplar single person/pet portraits (head & shoulders only) start at $150 and are shipped in a standard style frame which can be switched out, if desired, for something more suitable to your decor. I also have access to framable 11" x 14" Italian Poplar, as well as 3/4" pine oversized oval plaques and 1/4" Birch ply oversized rectangular plaques. Please call for prices for oversized pieces, or portraits of multiple persons & animals, or full bodied subjects.

A deposit of $50 is required prior to beginning work on your order. I'll be happy to provide a sketch for your approval, if you like, and will not proceed with actual burning until the deposit check is in hand. Images of the work in progress can be provided by email, at your request, and if for any reason you're not happy with the results, you may cancel the order at any time, but your deposit will be forfeited. The balance of payment is due upon completion and prior to shipping. Buyer pays actual shipping, including professional packaging.(no upcharge & I'll provide you with the receipt) Payments can be made by personal check, money order or cashiers check.

All costs are discussed in detail with customer before order acceptance. I am committed to providing you with a treasured heirloom, and will be in regular communication with you to ensure your satisfaction.

The 5" x 7" Italian Poplar plaques are priced in the $50-60 range, and also include a ready made frame. A deposit of $25 will be required prior to burning the image.

A great decorating idea! 5" x 7" Italian Poplar can be used for sets/collections and framed gallery style. (See Big Cats before and after framing) . Contact me for pricing of sets. Sets are sold unframed, allowing you to create an arrangement coordinated with your decor. This is a great way to display pets or children and makes a unique gift.
