Florida State University AlbumPosted on: December 12th, 2013 at 9:53 PM
was very honored to have been commissioned by FSU in Fall of 2013 to
pyrograph a baltic birch album commemorating an event held in October at
Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts. "A Fortnight of
Rembrandt" showcased a private collection of etchings by the 17th
century Dutch artist, Rembrandt van Rijn. The presentation album was
pyrographed with three of Rembrandt's etchings, including one that was
spread across the binder hardware and the inside covers, as well as the
album spine. It was both a humbling and challenging experience to work
in the shadow of one of the greatest artists of all time.

The images provided to me demonstrate the dogs' power and control, agility, tracking, search and rescue missions, companionship and obedience, among other traits achieved in training. It was a distinct honor and my pleasure to be able to contribute to this prestigious event. The pyrography was done on basswood plaques of various styles, with accent of oil colored pencil, as required.
